Barcelona would lose part of its essence if it wasn’t for its beaches. The place where sea and sand come together is where the Catalan capital gives us everything we need to relax and to entertain ourselves.

Barcelona’s metropolitan area has a total of 26 miles of coastline and 41 beaches, all of them equipped with a wide range of services that will allow you to fully enjoy this urban paradise.

If you still want to discover more of the Mediterranean, the Costa Brava is just a few miles away. The coastline of Barcelona’s neighbouring region, Girona, has many dreamlike beaches with crystal-clear waters, endless oasis that await you which will make you feel like you are living in a movie.

Hotel SB Icaria is located a short walk from the seafront promenade, which links all of Barcelona’s beaches: Llevant, Fórum, Litoral, Nova Mar Bella, Mar Bella, Bogatell, Nova Icária, Somorrostro, Barceloneta, Sant Miquel and Sant Sebastiá.

Nova Icària Beach

Nova Icària Beach is the closest to Hotel SB Icaria, just a 500-yard walk to the sea. It is one of Barcelona’s most popular and busiest beaches.

How to get there: the best way to get there from the hotel is on foot. Given its proximity, it will only take you 5 minutes.
Beach length: 400 yds.

Bogatell Beach

Bogatell Beach is a quieter beach than its neighbouring Nova Icària. It’s an excellent place to do sport, go for a walk or simply enjoy the sea. It is equipped with a wide range of facilities that will allow you to fully enjoy this beautiful beach.

Distance from the hotel: 0.6 miles
How to get there: After a 15-minute walk, you will be sunbathing by the sea.
Beach length: 640 yds.

Nova Mar Bella Beach

Nova Mar Bella Beach is located between the beaches of Llevant and Mar Bella. Created after the urban reshaping that Barcelona underwent in preparation of the Olympic Games, today the beach is the perfect place to spend the day. It is equipped with a large parking area and infrastructures for people with reduced mobility. It is a popular option among locals, more so than Bogatell and Nova Icària.

How to get there: The best way to get to the beach is by walking, given its proximity to the hotel (25 minutes).

Barceloneta Beach

The famous Barceloneta beach is located in the centre of Barcelona. This window overlooking the sea offers a wide range of facilities so you can make the most of your day on the beach, as well as having a wide range of restaurants, different sports areas and much more.

How to get there: It is just a 20-minute walk from Hotel SB Icaria.
